Bird House Wall Hanging Tutorial

Hi everyone

 

As you know We will be showcasing our range of

MDF shapes and frames, along with other products,

tonight at 10pm on QVC

 So we thought we would share this fabby tutorial

By Jayne showing step by step how to recreate a

lovely wall hanging using some of the new products.

 

All you need

MDF Frame and Charm Kit, Birdhouse, Paint,

Jade Sparkle Medium, Jade mica from set,

 Birdhouse Heart MDF,

Magi-Glaze clear glaze varnish, Brocade Stencil,

Cut n Dry foam, sand paper, or nail file,  

palette knife, and assorted flower to match.

 

 

Sand each component you are going to use,

and then paint them all using the white and cream MDF paints

or cover with white card or paper.

 

 
Decorate each piece,
 Cover the house with wood grain paper
(or mark MDF with soft lines using a felt tip pen)
(or stencil with a wood grain stencil) and sponge paint around edges.
 Add jewels to finish. (See picture above).

Punch a hole at the top with Crop-o-Dile or
strong hole punch, or a drill a hole. 
Alternatively could attach a piece of ribbon at the back,

Cover the heart with Versa Mark and dust on Jade mica
with a soft brush and then glaze adding a sprinkle of mica on top.

Using Cut and Dry foam and Versa Mark,
cover all edges and dust with Jade mica,
add a spritz of hair spray to set.
Then add Jewels to corners..

 

 

 

 Punch holes in frame at the top for hanging,

or attach ribbon to the back of the frame,

securing with a blob of silicone glue

or strong double sided red line sticky tape.

 

 

 

Create a corner flourish of paper or silk flowers

and punched or die cut leaves in matching colours

and add the heart (when dry) nestled in them .

Use silicone glue to attach flowers and heart,

leave flat to dry over night.

 

 To finish…

Add a length of ribbon for hanging,

and  attach the birdhouse to the

right hand hole with extra ribbons so it hangs freely.
