Hi Everyone

We thought we would start the new year on an optimistic note with some gorgeous samples of the new Spring Decoupage Stamps. As most of you will know by now we are so lucky with our Creative Director Jayne as she is a really talented artist and crafter of many years standing and she has been working really hard on samples for the up and coming show on QVC on 27 January. By the way the time has changed from the one advertised on the back of Craft Stamper Magazine from 7.30pm to 6.00pm. We thought it would be nice to show you some of the samples that you will see on the Show because as we all know we have a matter of seconds on the Show and it isn't easy to pick up on the finer points, so at least here you can look at your leisure! So here you can see the Butterfly and the Crocus sets. I just love the richness of the Butterfly card and the butterflies are painted with the Mica Powders mixed with the Magi Glaze. Just put a dab of the Mica Colour on your craft mat and mix it to a gloopy mix with some Magi Glaze. Either stamp out a butterfly onto heat embossable acetate and gold emboss and then paint in or stamp with Black Staz-On and paint in. Cut out and mount up - beautiful!

For the crocus Jayne has created the background with the Pearly Pallets using the Chinese brush stroke technique. If you look back to older posts you will see Jayne has done a really detailed step by step tutorial for this technique. Have a go because it is just so easy and really effective and a brilliant way to use up bits of dodgy coloured card. Once you have had a go I guarantee you will love it. This is where having a really talented artist like Jayne who is also a really passionate crafter is such a bonus because she can use artist brush stroke techniques and turn them into brilliant crafting techniques which we can all use in our papercrafting. I am always hearing Crafters say I'm not artistic and I can't do 'arty farty' things, ......... well you can now with this technique. If you do nothing else this weekend, get a pearly pallet and a large soft brush, spritz your pallet really well, wet your brush and using just 2 colours swish and swirl some colour onto any old bits of card you have in your stash box, wait until it dries (about 30 to 40 mins)and look how beautiful the colours are. It really is one of the most effective and easy to create background techniques you will ever try.

The Clearing Stamp and Stencils

So many of you have asked about the cards at the demo at the SECC and the NEC we thought we should post them for you so that you can see the beautiful effects you can achieve by using the Clearing Stamp and Stencil Set. http://imaginationcrafts.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=137_186&products_id=1616. This gorgeous card is done by using the Reindeer and Trees from the Stamp Set and stamping with a dark green distress ink onto some background paper. Using the accessory words and dotty snow stamps to white emboss the snow and stamp the words Silent Night in black archival ink. The next card was created by using Mica Powders over versamark for the background. Just swipe Versamark across the background and then brush over Mica powders to create and landscape background. Place the Clearing stencil over the background and then colour some white stencil paste with a bit of black stencil paint and spread over the stencil with a palette knife. Life off the stencil, wash clean immediately and leave to dry for 1/2 hour. If you want to add a bit of sparkle sprinkle on some black glitter while the paste is still wet but after you have removed the stencil.

Finally, our third option is done by using the Clearing Stencil, mixing up some more black stencilling paste, as above. This time put the stencil onto some smooth white glitter card and spread the black paste over the stencil. Remove stencil wash straight away - it really is as simple as that.

Pearly Pallet Backgrounds the easy way 1

Hello everyone,It's Jayne here again,

Hope you are all keeping warm as the chilly nights draw in, well, here is another technique to keep your creative spirits going...I shall show you through these easy step by step instructions along with photo's how you can create some stunning back grounds. just like this one above using the Fantastic new Vintage Pearly Pallet, the colours on this pallett are out of the world .....all are duo toned so depending on what card stock you are using light or dark you get amazing colour mixing..lets get started....

You will need

Vintage Pearly Pallet,
Non-stick mat,
Large Fluffy Brush,
Mister water spary,
Thick card stock cut into A5 size x5,
Black Sparkly embossing powder (see tips below),
Versamark ink pad,
Heat Gun,
Anti-static bag,
Scissors,
Silicone Glue,

Tips ;

Always use an anti-static bag before you do any embossing on these backgrounds, It will help to reduce the unwanted marks,

Add Approx 1 teaspoon of assorted glitter to 70grms roughly 1/2 a small pot of Fine detail Black embossing powder.

Step one,

Before you begin..... spray all over the Pearly Pallet, the wetter the better. really mix up the micas in the paint to a lovely creamy consistancy but not too thick, In this card above we will be using green and green/gold,

Step 2

Now spritz the card stock with the water and spread over the card stock.

For this card we need 5 colors and 5 Layers so have ready 5 pieces of card or as i have done used one piece for two colours ( see drying layers below) we will be using Gold, Green /gold. Bronze , Purple, Red burgandy and green. so make sure the colours are still nice and wet, if not spritz again,

Pick up the lightest colour and SWEEP across the card stock in a bold stoke, now pick up the other colour and Sweep again untill you have cover the entire area.Set aside to dry

Rinse your fluffy brush in water flick once to semi dry between colours and repeat for all the other colour layers

Step 3

these layers must be really dry to continue you can heat dry, but they will curl best is to let air dry they will curl but not as much. if you want them flatter you can leave under heavy books overnight...

Next you will want to mix your sparkly embossing powder.( see tips)

Before you Start embossing, rub the anti-static bag all over the dry coloured card stock and remember to do this EVERY time before embossing.

Step 4,

Place you stamp on the rock-a-block, inkup with Versamark and stamp onto the pre-coloured card stock. Sprinkle the embossing powder over image tap off excess, and heat emboss.

Repeat for each colour.

Here are the sugested layers

all layered up

Cut each layer and build up with either silicone Glue or sticky pads

this was then mounted onto gold ,then black card stock the next layer was the green gold layer the top right hand corner and bottom left corners were embossed with the sparkle embossing powder and the stamp from the set .this was mounted onto black card stock and then onto the cream card. Add the ribbon befor attaching layers to the card.
For a touch of gloss add Magi glaze to the berries once dry this adds a glossy shine to them.

I do love these Pallets, you can do so much with them here are one or two samples...

This card was embossed with the sparkly Embossing Powder, then coloured with a water brush directly from the pallet.

This one was embossed with gold then coloured....

Mica Brushing with the New Decoupage Range

Hi everyone, It's jayne here

Team Imagination have been extremely busy lately with prepping for the QVC shows and the up and coming events,Happy Stampers, SECC and the NEC.Along with Designing the new Ranges of Stamps and Stencils coming out in the spring,Sue and Harvey have invited me to share with you a couple of techniques with you that i know you will enjoy doing with easy to follow step by steps , using our newest Range of Decoupage Stamps sets Holly,Berries,Bells, Baubles,Flowers and Ivy all can be found on our web site http://www.imaginationcrafts.co.uk/

When I was designing these sets, I didn't realize how versitile these would be, not only are they great for Copic Pens, Pro Marker's and Water colouring, I have also found that they are fantastic with our Mica Powders and the New vintage pallet (see previous post)

So the first Technique will be Mica brushing with the Decoupage stamp Range,

Items you will need:

Mica powders set 1 and 2
Decoupage stamp set Bells,
Rock-a-bloc med
Versa mark ink pad,
Small detail brush

Large fluffy Brush,

Anti-static bag,

Scissors,
Cheap Hairspray
An assortment of Smooth coloured card stock

Tips....

1)Always use an anti-static bag on all card stock before you stamp any images, this helps to reduce any unwanted marks,

2)Only open the colours you are using , this reduces the possibilities of spillage..

Step 1) Cut 5 pieces of coloured card stock into 4x4 inches, you will get 6 froma A5 sheet,choose three colours of mica powders that work well together, Green Gold and Bronze were used on this card. open the lids of the micas and rub the anti-static over the pre -cut card stock.

Detail method

Sweeping method

Step 2) Place your stamp onto the Rock-a-Bloc, ink with the versamark ink pad and stamp onto the card stock, now there are two different methods you can do a) using the detail brush add mica to detailed areas ie border, background etc, or b) using the Large Fluffy brush to sweep across the pre stamped image in bold diagonal stokes. which ever way you like, the demo card above I used the sweeping method.

In both methods, once you have covered the image, tap off the excess and then use the large fluffy brush to dust n polish the image. ( don't use kitchen roll or tissues as this could scratch off the design,)

Step 3 ) A this point if you wish to change a colour or pick out certain areas you can do so by re applying some mica with the detail brush, then dust n polish again. Once you are happy with you image Seal it with a cheap hairspray set aside to dry , repeat for all 5 layers.

Step4) Cut out each layer,( these are suggested layers you can do as many or a little as you want, that's the beauty of these stamp images.Layer up using silicone glue or pads. (as shown on the card) and mat onto gold card stock,again matt onto green card stock this also stamped with versa mark and using the micas randomly around the edge to match

Step 5) To finish add some ribbon and greeting if desired,

Decoupage Stamping with the New Vintage Palette

Hi Everyone

At last a chance to update you on what is happening, here at Imagination but first of all heaps of apologies for not blogging more often! The only excuse is 'work', 'work', work, 7 days a week at the moment and of course coming up to the busiest time of the year with Shows on TV and Craft Shows all over the Country.

Hope you like the above offering from Jayne, her Decoupage Stamp Designs are beautiful and
this talented lady has done a fabulous series of Stamps and we look forward to more in the Spring.

The design team have been working overtime, thank you girls, so much, we couldn't do it without you, that's for sure and Jayne has literally been burning the midnight oil, all good artists do their best work at night I'm told!! They have been really busy working on all the Christmas Stamping Stencil sets and the new Decoupage Stamps - Wow how you love em! Kim has done some lovely samples of the Christmas Stencils and hopefully we can show you those in the next few days. Our lovely Jennifer who has been with us for the last 6 years has done some beautiful samples so tune in to the programmes and come and see the cards at the Craft Shows so that you can appreciate how fab they look.

This card has been made using the Poinsettia Decoupage Stamp, mounted onto a background of the embossed Invert Holly Stencil. The stamp has been inked up with versamark and heat embossed with black detail embossing powder. Do this 3 or 4 times and then paint in using the new Vintage Palette. The colours on the new Vintage Palette are beautiful and the colours have an Interference element of colour which really shimmers through. It's a really different look
but a great alternative to the usual bright colours we tend to use at Christmas.

Don't miss our next programme on QVC on Tuesday 20 September and great excitement here as they have given us a bit more time and we are doing a mini masterclass and you can see the Vintage Palette, Silkies, Inkadinks and Mica Spritzer colours being used on the Stencils and Stamps, so that really is one not to be missed.

Jayne's Gorgeous Stencil Store for You to Make!!

Jayne our amazing new talented Designer who recently joined the Imagination Team has been really busy making this incredible Stencil Store, which is such a clever idea! She has used the new range of Stencil Stamps, which she designed exclusively for us combined with our great new range of Stencil Paint. She has combined Leaf Swirl, Diamond Background and Bubble Background and stenciled through a combination of White, Mallow and Rose Stencil Paint using our fabulous new stencil brushes, of course! She has used the gorgeous Dragonfly stamp from the Bubble Stamping Stencil set, this is such a pretty dragonfly, love the lacy wings. Done in the white looks really effective. Then she covered some chipboard with the stencilled papers and made this beautiful Stencil Store using the Bind-It All tool. I have to confess I have had mine some time!! and haven't used it yet (you know how it is !lol!) but I will now! Have a look below to see the back and the front and inside, which is the really clever bit!

We are bowled over by this, what a clever idea and so beautifully made. She has embellished her work of art with pretty matching ribbon and the closure is using some white shearing elastic with a large pink bead slider - genius! Have a look at inside ............................

I hope you can see (light not too good for piccis today) but inside to store your stencils safely she has included 6 x 6 envelopes and it works - we have already filled ours up! Just love it - don't you? Isn't it great to see something different?
As well as being beautiful it's practical and would make such a great gift. We love things that make us want to rush off and make one! The lovely Liz Barrell teaches workshops at one of our stockists Cards by Samantha and sent us some pics of the fabulous card she has made using Silkies, Chalkies and Mica Powders. As you can see Liz has used the products through the Flower Frenzy and Cosmic Swirl Templates.

This just shows you how amazing Silkies look the colours work so beautifully together.

Cosmic Swirl is simple but so effective!

We always make a point of saying how beautiful Silkies look when they are brayered and I think this proves the point. The colours blend seemlessly into eachother. If I were you I would be heading off to Samanthas for a workshop!

I don't think this photo does justice to the card because the incredible shimmer of the mica doesn't show on a photo but believe me it is superb. Another way of using Mica Powders - how fab is that!

well time here at HQ has been very busy with lots of meetings for new programs and new products ,so there will be lots of new products for you all in the new year that you just know you will want and need lolxx

We're Still Here!!

Hi Everyone
At last, time to post! So sorry to everyone that it has taken us so long to post this time, you just would not believe how busy we are!! I know it's a good problem to have but it means that so many things have to wait to be done. Harvey says he hasn't got a piece of paper long enough for his 'to do list'. I think we are running at 97 hours a week at the moment, why it isn't a hundred -who knows but at the last count we are all doing about 97 hours work. I always remember someone saying beware when your hobby turns into a job but do you know - we all absolutely love it. None of us have ever worked so hard in our lives and as with all Craft it is all about sharing. We want to share so much with you that's why Dawn has worked really hard on the Step by Step Tutorials for the Silkies and the Inkadinks. Her Tatty Flowers are so popular at the Shows and if you haven't made any before, give it a try they look amazing and you can customise them to suit your cards. Everyone is saying how tough it is at the moment and that it is going to get worse next year, so if you are trying to economise give the Tatty Flowers a go - you will get really hooked on making them so put a big empty choccy box close by and fill it with Flowers!
We have to say a huge, huge, thankyou to everyone who has sent messages of support for our QVC programmes. We appreciate it ssssooooooo much we have put our all into the Shows, hence the work load but it is the most fun we have ever had. How lucky are we to be allowed to have our own Show. We feel so privileged and when you share the same stage as Russell Watson, Lu Lu, John Barrowman, Joan Rivers, Susan Boyle, Liz Earle etc etc it is really, really exciting. Like everyone else we get a bit Star Struck and all these people have worked so incredibly hard to get where they are and we feel we have to keep up the hard work to stay up there as well. We have received so much support from lots of other Craft Companies who share the programmes on QVC and again it is so nice to be welcomed in to the fold. The standards on QVC are really, really, high this is no amateur outfit, you have to really prove yourself to be allowed air time. Satellite time costs millions and you have to really try to be the best you can be to stay up there. We have received a bit of stick for thanking Team Members on the Show but for the sake of a couple of seconds to say Thank you to everyone who puts their hearts, souls and massive creativity into each programme what can you be but incredibly grateful. Everyone who crafts, does it because they love it and we feel it is really important to share that. So this is really a thank you to everyone who has supported us and shared their thoughts with us. We listen to everything you say and we try and adapt accordingly within the stringent guidlines that we are given. We have had some interesting comments on Sue's Top that she wore on air it has been likened to Mirri Board, have to confess we all hooted with laughter, Sue most of all, we made her put it on so that we could all appreciate the full blinding effect!!lol!! Isn't it amazing that people can watch craft telly and get really into the clothes, of course it is tempting to wear a penguin outfit next time - let's keep it seasonal!! Any suggestions on a post-card please...........................she fancies a little Santa Number but she is still working out whose knee she wants to sit on!! Move over Harvey!!!!lol!!!!

Hi Everyone
We thought it was time to start publishing some of the samples that you saw on the Telly. We are always getting lots of compliments from you about the quality of our samples so we thought you might enjoy seeing them for a bit longer than 1.3 minutes!!! Taking on board what you have all said about the 'time element' on the TV, it's a difficult one as QVC is a really professional outfit and they have producers, directors and planners who all get together to workout schedules and within those really stringent constraints we have to try and put across as much as we can. We know you want alot more demos and technical stuff and so do we and we know alot of you have filled in the QVC questionnaire form on their site requesting that we be given a bit more time so that you can actually see what is happening on the show, so fingers crossed.
The card today shows the fabulous Snowdrop stamp and the background uses the Cherry Blossom template, put through the Cuttlebug. Have to confess we found that you get a really deep impression by using some black spongy stuff that we sell at 3.99 a packet. We used this instead of an embossing mat and it is brilliant - thank Harvey for that - you see he does craft. He likes to keep it a bit of a secret though!!! (Man stuff etc).
Harrogate was as busy as ever and lots of people coming on to the stand and commenting on the programme which was nice. We had a day off!!!!!!!!!!!! (just the one), Stand back in complete amazement, first one since May and we indulged in some retail theraty - absolute bliss. We bought some books, heaven only knows when we will get time to read them but we bought them anyway!! Harrogate is retail paradise, lots of individual shops and not the usual High Street rubbish - does anyone else out there think the UK High Street is just horrible now, all the big stores have just forced the individual guys out and no wonder they say our High Streets are dying, it is so sad but Harrogate is a beacon of light in this area, thank goodness.
Our Dawn is back from her hols at the end of this week - yeah!!!!!!!!! There will be much rejoicing this end I can tell you. Mind you we don't want to see the Tan, thank you and hear all those stories of lying under blue skies, relaxing with a glass of something chilled in one hand and a delicious trashy novel in the other - Can't be doing with that at all!!! The date for the next show should be coming up soon, so watch this space. Also Michelle is busy doing her magic on the design board so we should have some new stamps soon. We also have a new designer who has joined us straight from art college, our Hayley, so we are looking forward to seeing what she can pull out of the hat for us - no pressure Hayley!

A Huge Thankyou

Hello Everyone
We just wanted to say 'thankyou', so much for all your support during and after the programme last week on QVC!! We have never had so many emails and of course, everyone agreed there just wasn't enough time to show all the techniques and demos we had planned. We know you loved the Mica Powders and next month we will concentrate more on the Inkadinks and Silkies. It was great to be able to show how fantastic our 'positive/negative', botanical stamps, the Small Shadow Rose, the Echinacea and the Anenomes can look. We all worked so incredibly hard to bring you some really fabulous samples to inspire you and hopefully we will be able to have a little bit more time in the next programme to show them to you and explain how to use the products to their fullest potential. A real special enormous thank you to our own Dawn

Our own Jennifer, who despite having surgery and being on crutches for months has worked so hard to produce incredible samples and Lucy Edmondson who met all our deadlines and we had so little time we couldn't even get to Lucy's fab cards - so next time they will be featured and that is really something to look forward too!
Perhaps it is just as well we didn't know how exhausting but exhilarating doing such a big TV programme could be! We are still reeling and trying to keep up with the flood that has followed but thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your support, it really means such alot and please don't forget our customers are our inspiration and we do it all just for you!

Good Evening ladies ,

Hi Girls

Today we have 2 more gorgeous offerings from Dawn, they arrived in the post this morning and I just had to get them to you!! These cute Penny Johnson Bears, clear stamps (check out the web site), are coloured, of course, with Inkadinks. We are now thrilled to tell you that Inkadinks have gone global!! Its official, our creative friends across the Pond and Down Under are ordering their Inkdadinks after seeing the fab samples we have here on the Blog - thank you girls for all your hard work!!

Dawn is also giving great advice on how to get the best results with your Inkadinks, using good smooth quality watercolour paper helps such alot with the finished image and getting a professional finish to your cards. All these hints and tips from the professionals make such a difference when you are working with new products. They use the products every day (believe me, being on a design team is a more than full time job - and they all do it for love- how lucky are we)!! and spend hours experimenting on how to get the best finish so that you don't have to spend hours and can get on with making the best possible creations to send to your loved ones!!

Wait until you see our next offering - Dawn has been working with the Silkies and when you see what she has achieved your eyes will 'pop'. I have been brayering with the Silkies and as someone who always gets a 'line', when using a dye ink pad, I have discovered that by using Silkies, I can avoid the line - what a 'ureka'!!!lol!! moment and for my money the finish is a million times more beautiful than a dye based background. Never thought I would say it but it's true!! I will be doing an on-line tutorial showing you how - when I get 5 mins - after the Trade Show, after Glasgow a week later, after Birmingham, after, after, after ..........

So that we can spend more time on the Web Site and give you lots of Tutorials, tips, hints and samples, we will be cutting down on Shows after May. You will still be able to see us at the NEC and locally but we won't be scattering ourselves as far and wide as we have been. As with most things in life you can't do it all and the time has come to make some choices. Also to our huge sadness, Heather has decided that she would like some of her life back, and she won't be joining us at Shows. She is a really busy lady and has put her life on hold for us over the past few years so she would now like to spend more time with her family, so you can't argue with that. We will miss her so much, she has worked really hard as part of the team and we will miss her creative input like crazy as well as having a steady hand on the tiller at shows but all good things have to come to an end eventually. However, every cloud has a silver lining and the good news is that she will still be designing for us - thank goodness, so we can have our creative 'fix', that way.

We are just manic at the moment preparing for the Trade Show at the NEC next week. Everyone is working flat out to prepare for Workshops and demos. There is alot of excitement out there about Silkies and Inkadinks and we want to put on a good show!! This is a really exciting event in the Trade calendar and everyone wants to see what everyone else is up too!! and wish they had that idea first!!! Nothing like a bit of healthy competition to keep everyone gossiping and on their toes!!!!lol!!!! Bring it on!!!!!!

We will let you know if anything exciting happens, lets just hope and pray that the promised snow and even bigger freeze they are predicting doesn't come to pass - keep everything crossed girls!

Just to wet your appetite a bit more for the Inkadinks we are featuring another of Dawn's ( www.allpinkgirl.blogspot.com)

fab creations using this little Sarah Kay stamp. As well as colouring the image with the Inkadinks she has also just lightly distressed around the edges of the petals of the punched flowers. It is just so pretty. I love the matting and layering up of all the background papers. The balance of colour is so soft and subtle, lots of people often ask how we would colour in this particular stamp, so I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration.

Inkadinks rule!!lol!! So many of you have been asking about how to use the Inkdadinks and I know you have been looking at Dawn's www.allpinkgirl.blogspot.com. step by step tutorial on her blog. I thought you would also like to see some of the cards on our blog. Dawn has sent me some of her artwork so we can display it at Shows and on the Blog. She makes it look so easy doesn't she! Well it is. As you know Heather demos with the Inkdadinks at the Shows, so if you want to see them used in Glasgow and Birmingham come and see us on the Stand. Personally I was a great fan of the Sunset Set but I have been using the Vintage set alot recently especially for distressing. I love the muted colours and they are just so easy to use with Cut n Dry Foam.
We are also expecting some new Templates in today, so look out for them on the Web Site. I have been using them with the Silkies and the effects are incredible - so watch this space in the next few days.
We are frantically preparing for the Trade Show, Stitches at the Nec and there just aren't enough hours in the day to make all the samples.
Jayne over at Stampasorus has also fallen in love with the Inkadinks and the Silkies, so look out for her take on them, used with her range of cute stamps.
If anyone can suggest any ranges of really soft, muted ranges of background papers, I would be really grateful to know. You would think we saw everything but as time is at a premium at the moment any suggestions would be more than gratefully received.
Our weather has warmed up just slightly here in Dorset and Barney, who has been reclining on a sofa with an injured paw (what's new for a Springer Spaniel)! may have to attend Doggie Weight Watchers as he has put on a pound or two because he hasn't been harrassing the local small mammal population as he normally does. He still looks gorgeous though but as he is 7 years old in March we don't want his middle aged spread getting too much of a hold too soon!

Dawn's Inkadinks

I just had to show you these gorgeous cards from Dawn at www.allpinkgirl.blogspot aren't they absolutely fabulous. Those of you who follow Dawn's blog will know that she uses the Inkadinks all the time. The pink card is a Sugar Nellie stamp and the blue one is a Sarah Kay. I have put these on the blog this week because lots of you have asked us how to use the Inkdadinks, are they easy to use, how do you mix the colours and what do they look like when they have been used on ordinary card - well now you can see. If you want to see lots of different cards using the inks in different ways, call by Dawn's blog. She has done a really great tutorial, it is easy to read and follow and shows how simple and effective they are to use. Quite a few of you have asked about colouring cards and how to get the right balance of colour, looking at Dawn's card will really help. If you analyse what she has done you will see how she uses shades and tones of the same colour for maximum effect. Looking at the construction of the card and taking the card apart in your mind will help. Asking the questions, what papers has she used (check out her blog and she tells you), what main colour theme has she used, what has she used to colour, Inkadinks, of course, which stamp is the focal image and what has she used as accessories. A lot of successful card makers sort of know automatically what works, but that will come when you have made a few. It's like most things after a while it suddenly clicks, and looking at blogs and galleries is a great way to start. It is really hard when you first start out, trying to work your way through what ink is used for what purpose, which papers to use. The people at Exhibitions and on the telly make it look so easy but when you are sitting on your own at home it can be really difficult to find inspiration.

I just wanted to say how lovely it was to meet customers on Saturday who had bought the Silkies from www.joannasheen.co.uk and were so impressed they came to the Show to have a look at some of the samples and of course, bought more!! Great feed back girls, thankyou!

No piccies today girls, for the some reason known only to the computer, the layouts and pictures we have taken for the blog haven't come out as we wanted - how often does that happen!! So, when we are back from the show at Sandown we will address the problem.
However, massive excitement you have got to go onto Dawn Wheeler's blogspot at allpinkgirl. She has done a real easy peasy tutorial on Inkadinks. Lots of her girl have been asking her how she gets such fantastic effects on her cards with the Inkadinks and she decided to give a step by step, simple explanation, which is really helpful. It makes you realise how easy the inks are to use and she gives some helpful hints and tips about how to lighten colour and lift colour out as well, which is fantastic. Once the madness of the Spring Shows is out of the way we hope to do lots of this sort of tutorial on the blog. There is so much we want to do and so little time but we are aware where we fall short.

I did want to say thank you to those of you who emailed about being on the design team, we will get back to you and lots of lots of apologies for not doing so in quicker time!! We have checked out your blogs and we would love to have you on the team, so we haven't forgotten you but we need some time to chat to you. Time is something we never have. Over Christmas and New Year we all had the dreaded swine flu and yes, it has taken all this time to get over it, a couple of us still haven't completely recovered - not as young as we used to be!!
Anyway, the madness of the Show season is now upon us! It is sort of pleasure and pain really. The pleasure is meeting lots of other crafters, the pain is that lots of craft companies now have an increasing problem with stuff being - shall we say - misappropriated by over enthusiastic crafters!! It is so difficult, we all suffer from stuff being stolen from the Stand but last year it reached epidemic levels and is so upsetting. Most people are wonderful and lovely but it is always the few who spoil it for the many. When we ask these ladies 'why', they do it, they say, they can't help it, there is a recession on and that can't afford it, they don't know how it got in their bags (honestly this is absolutely true) - when you ask why have you put those stamps in your bag, they say - I don't know how they got in there - what do you say!!!!? The Federation of Small Businesses has said it will all get worse, due to recession etc so we have to live in hope that they see the error of their ways! However we do want to say an enormous big 'thankyou', to all our wonderful loyal customers - we couldn't do it without you and thank you for all your lovely kind emails, saying the service is great and you got your goods, despite, arctic conditions - we aim to please.
On a much more positive note, we have some delicious new Silky colours in the pipeline which is fantastic news. There is a lovely black, bronze, denim blue, and a wonderful bright red. There will be 8 new colours in all we are just refining the shades. So look out for more news on those in the next month or so.

As we are running a course at the Institute of Genealogists on Scrapbooking your Ancestors, we thought it would make a change to show a few Layouts and how you can use the Inkadinks to distress and antique a few pages. The Vintage set of colours are really effective and so quick and easy to use. So armed with a piece of Cut n Dry foam, a spritzer bottle and palette, use of few drops of Ochre dripped into a palette and dab the ink onto the foam. You only need a tiny amount. Drag the ink along the edges of tags and gently sponge onto background material. It works really well on photos, we always use scanned copies so that if a technique doesn't work it doesn't matter too much and you haven't ruined your precious original print. Using the ink in a spritzer bottle and adding a few drops of water (until you get the colour you want), and spritzing the ink onto tags for journalling and adding a 'foxing', effect to age the photos is really effective. Remember always put the photos in a cardboard box to spritz, so you don't spray onto your clothes, soft furnishings, floor etc! The Inkadinks are fantastic for distressing techniques and using Cut N Dry means you can sponge and apply them onto any surface.

Doing a Layout of an Antartic Explorer seems appropriate at the moment with the weather!! All we are missing in our garden is a few Penguins and a Polar Bear or two posing by the pond!!

I don't know about you but I really enjoy Scrapbooking. I know it isn't as popular as Card Making and lots of people tell us, they haven't got time and they aren't into it but I love being surrounded by pictures of my ancestors. I think it is probably something that comes later in life, like Gardening! It really fulfills the creative urges to make a work of art. The satisfaction of collecting and choosing all the bits to go together is very satisfying and for card makers it allows us to put to use all the techniques we have learnt like Rubber Stamping, embossing, printing, creating 'arty', backgrounds and distressing, to name but a few. Everyone has an old shoe box full of old photographs, it seems such a shame not to do something with them and use all the stash we have collected over the years. You will see I have used by Cuttlebug embossing folders in the next blog to add texture and to antique some frames, they look great, I just hope they come out in the photo.

A truly fabulous distressed Inkadink Christmas Card

Isn't it all such hard work!! Christmas I mean, especially for all us Papercrafters. The pressure to send a handmade card ('cause we have so much stash) and we know we ought to take the biggest opportunity of the year and show off our skills and all our friends and family will be expecting something, handmade, spectacular, and really special that we have made ourselves. On top of the fact that we have to shop till we drop, then make a cake, a pudding, mince pies, bread sauce, stuffing etc etc etc. Buy and wrap (sometimes creatively!!), presents, wash, iron and change beds ready for the family. OMG!! do you feel as stressed as we do? Answers on a (handmade) postcard, or better still an ATC please!! So, how impressed are we to receive the card featured here in the post yesterday, with a note from the lovely Jayne of Butterfly Kisses apologising for being so busy and not able to send any samples of silkies (Yet - watch this space). Please girls do not apologise, how did you manage on top of all the other stresses at this time of year? For those who haven't come across Butterfly Kisses, Alison and Jayne have some of the most beautiful samples you will ever see at Craft Shows up and down the country. They work really hard and also produce the clever and original range of Around-2-it, clear stamps.

I keep saying how fabulous the Inkadinks are and you can use them like distress inks and this card illustrate this beautifully. Using such a restricted colour palette is really effective and the Inkadinks sit beautifully on the smooth cream card. Dab some inked up cut n dry foam around the edges of the card to complete the look. Some curled dark blue wire and cream and blue organza ribbon completes the look. Simple, stylish and so effective.

So we are using Jayne's card to wish you all a lovely seasonal time and at least you can really relax in just 48 hours time - YES!!

Big and Juicy Ink Pads and a few techniques!

AT LAST!! They have arrived - so many apologies to everyone who has been waiting for the Big and Juicy Ink Pads. The container was delayed from the US and so we have waited an extra month for the delivery - anyway they are here. Check out the Web Site for colours and availability. The Price is £9.90!! so why not order 2 sets so that you get your free P&P!! Remember we have really limited stocks (should have ordered more!) so make sure you don't miss out. For those of you who are unsure how to use the Big and Juicy Ink Pads, these are the gorgeous fellas that you use with your Brayer. The thing to remember is always roll the Brayer in the direction of the ink (use the lid to remind you!). Check out the price of our Brayers, they are really good value too!
Don't forget that you can use the Big and Juicy Pads for the resist technique. Stamp or roll an image onto glossy card with Versamark, ink up your Brayer roller with Big and Juicy Ink, roll some of the ink off onto some kitchen towel and then roll over the stamped image. Do this 3 or 4 times until you are happy with the effect. Polish over the top with some kitchen towel. The Versamark image will 'pop', through the ink. You can also dye ribbons on the Big and Juicy pad. Lightly dampen white or cream ribbon, then pull the ribbon through the colours you like, do this on both sides of the ribbon. Pull through one colour at a time, back and front. Leave to dry and iron, your ribbon will then have a 'spaced dyed', look and will match your card. It is a really delicate and pretty effect. If you like stamping onto fabric, use the same technique to dye your fabric. As I always tell you at shows, Dye Ink - think - Dylon!! Damp the fabric and then scrumple up and dot and dab onto the colours you want to use. If you want a more controlled, softly marbled effect, iron the fabric straight (or if you want lines in it don't iron it!), place onto some greaseproof paper, use a piece of sponge, take colour from the Big and Juicy and dab onto the fabric until you like the effect. Let it dry, iron, stamp onto the fabric with Versafine or a good craft ink pad. Stitch into the fabric, add beads and couch threads for texture. You can do exactly the same effect on handmade paper or even good quality watercolour paper or card. Sponge on the colour for the background, dry, iron (under kitchen paper), stamp and stitch on top for all the latest effects.

At long last the worst of the 'bug', has subsided, it takes so long to recover from these things in this horrible damp winter, so depressing. The only bright light on the horizon at the moment is the continuing fab work of our http://www.allpinkgirl.blogspot/ aka Dawn! She is beavering away with the Inkadinks and the Silkies even while her little girl is also suffering from some vile virus - well done Dawn, keep up the great work!
This great card above uses another of the great Ollyfant range of clear stamps that we love so much here. Alot of the cutie stamps are images of little girls and we often get asked for boys, so this card fills that gap and it is quick and really easy to make, great for autumn/winter birthdays and great for using some patterned papers and a die cutting machine. The big bonus of this card is that you don't have to use a die cutting machine if you haven't got one! So using Autumn 2, code no 0902 and a dotty cuttlebug embossing folder on some core d'nations cardstock to create some textured background, patterned paper and paper flowers and ribbon makes a quick simple background. Stamp the little boy and the dog and colour in with marker pens, cut out and stick on with double sided foam pads - quick and easy!!
During the last round of shows we have noticed how many brand new crafters there are - which is fantastic news! We all get excited when we can welcome someone new into our magic creative world, as we know what an exciting future waits for you out there! The difficulty is how to inspire and advise new crafters, so that they realise their full potential and don't make expensive mistakes which can be really off putting! How many times have we all bought so much new stash and it stays at the back of the cupboard - we've all done it! So next year we are on an Imaginative Crusade to try and unravel the technical world of inks. So many people get confused about inks and like everything 'it's easy when you know how'. We need to give people confidence to move on from cutting out and sticking on. Nothing wrong with with that, but it is really exciting to be able to learn some new techniques, put them all together and produce something even more inspiring. What we have learnt from talking to people at shows is that they lack confidence and information and making the leap from licking and sticking to inking and stamping seems daunting and scary. We know it isn't but it is like riding a bike or using a sewing machine if you don't have a success early on and you keep falling off and don't enjoy the experience you don't want to carry on. So, here at Imagination (true to the name!), we want to try and guide and inspire but most of all give lots of information to help people to make the right choices. If you have any hints and tips that have inspired you on the way, please let us know. It might be something that you stumbled on that really made a difference to your papercrafting. Using a particular product, learning a particular technique, seeing a particularly inspiring demo or just sharing ideas with a friend - share with others let us know and we can pass it on. We are so lucky to have such a great team here who all work hard behind the scenes to make us a success. Heather, is, as we speak, designing new rollers. She will also be inspiring retailers at the Craft show in February. Her Workshop using the Silkies will be one not to be missed. She will be assisted by Harvey and I think we can say hand on heart, this will be a double act not to be missed!! Jennifer is working with the silkies to make some more of her amazing samples for next year. Michelle is tearing around the country teaching and demoing. Susan is on Create and Craft every week for the forseeable future with her papers. Hi Everyone
No piccys here today, but you just have to go to my friend Dawn Wheeler's allpinkgirl blogspot - www.allpinkgirl.blogspot.com to see what she has done with the Inkadinks and silkies - she is just such a talented lady as well as being such a nice person. She has a real passion for papercraft and she does it all for love!
Well we're back and laid low with the usual winter bout of goodness knows what. I suppose if you are amongst 65000 eager crafters for 2 weeks (Glasgow SECC and Birmingham NEC), something has to give!! It started with the sorest throat and chest, went on to a hideous cough and now we look like little frogs, with big swollen eyes! It's a hum dinger - believe me! Anyway we'll live. All this activity throughout the country has meant that our blog has been sorely neglected and for that we humbly apologise and we intend to do something about it from now on. Anyway the best news ever is that our beautiful Silkies and the amazing Inkadinks have caused such a rumble in the jungle. You all absolutely loved them and we could hardly keep up with the demand at the Shows. I think it is because they are just so easy to use and really addictive. Once you start using them you think of more and more techniques that you can use them for. I just love the fact that they paint straight on to acetate and dry really quickly. If you love backgrounds, stamping, printing and playing about I promise you will not be disappointed. Joanna Sheen loved them and will be featuring them on her web site in December.
I do want to say the biggest Hello to all the lovely lovely ladies from Ireland who came to see us on ALL 4 DAYS at the NEC, they were wonderful. We hope you are enjoying all your products and thank you so much for being such a lovely fun crowd of girls. Harvey still hasn't got over the marriage proposal and with the Irish name and the fact that he absolutely loves Ireland we could lose him soon!!
We are spending some time with the family next week - we just can't wait. We all work so hard and time together is really precious. We will be making Christmas Cards with the children and introducing them to some 3D paper decoupage - on an elephant!! I think a 5 year old will enjoy all that gluing and sticking and she will have a lovely elephant at the end of it!!
Barney is really pleased to be back home, he has spent so much time at Animals at Home this year, he doesn't mind, as he can sleep on the sofa but there is no place like home, even to a soppy old spaniel!
We are really looking forward to some creative time back in the Studio, we love getting out and about but other things suffer, so now we need to put that right. Keep Watching Girls - we do appreciate your support.

The time has come for craft products to look beautiful and our new Silkies look stunning! Lovely, luxurious and satin soft Silkies are a new concept in colour, we have managed to blend our mica pigments into a chalky, satin finish that looks incredible on Acetate, glossy card, card, paper, candles, glass, clay, metal and most surfaces you can think of! The colours are quite breathtaking and those of you who bought them at Port Sunlight and Hinckley have already said how thrilled you are with the satin soft texture and blendability. We have packed them into glass bottles so they will last and last as well as looking good. So you can use them straight away we have included a brush in the lid, just like nail varnish. This means you can apply colour directly onto so many surfaces. Because they are a water based product you can dilute them with water, for spritzing but one of the great advantages is their affinity with acetate, just try something quick and simple like stamping or rolling and embossing onto a piece of heat embossable acetate, turn the acetate over and then paint in on the reverse with the Silkies. Turn the acetate back to the front and just look at the satin soft colour underneath, truly fabulous, you will love it. Heather had just 48 hours to work with the Silkies and she produced the most beautiful card using the Silkies sponged and blended together on the background. Using the little Sponge finger daubers makes blending so easy. She then stamped over the top and the effect is really special. Come and have a look at the card in Glasgow and Birmingham - you will become a Silkie convert. Heather also applied the Silkie colour direct to the stamp and stamped with it, giving a soft watercolour effect. They are such a versatile product and we can't wait to produce some more samples for your delectation and delight! Best of all they come in sets of 4 and cost just £10.99. Time permitting we will get them on the Web Site just as soon as we can. It is completely manic here at the moment. We are girding our loins (nearly put lions!) for Glasgow (Stand No M20) and Birmingham. Everyone is pushing the boat out. We are working on a simple contemporary colour them of black, white and silver, we think you will love the result. The workshops run everyday, starting at 10am and last 45 minutes, the last workshop will be at 4pm. NEW! NEW! NEW! We have managed to obtain just a few of the brand new Big 'n' Juicy Ink Pads. It is so incredibly exciting (what has it come to when the arrival of new Ink Pads send us into a frenzy of excitement and creativity seems the only passion to indulge in!!) - scary really - only other Crafters can understand the feeling that comes over you, when you open the box and see them lying there. Tantelisingly close, the colours glinting on the lid, the ink oozzing out onto the felt ........ what a feeling!! The biggest question of all is have we time to put them on the web site or do we take them to the Show - decisions, decisions. If you feel really strongly about it and want to be the first to have one - email now and let us know before its too late and into the Van they go!! (We will be getting some more in 3 weeks - if you can wait that long!!) but they will be going to Birmingham. I am surrounded by them and I have lost my heart already to Hydrangea, all that Agean sea colour of turquoise, blues, deep lilacy purple, lavender pink and cerise (my favourite colours altogether). On the other hand Mountain Meadow is sort of sunset in the Alps colours, there again Soothing Sunset is your favourite cocktail on holiday sitting on the balcony when the sun sets on the horizon, watching the brilliant firely organges, yellows, peachy pinks, lilacy pinks and purply pinks blend together. Foliage is for all of you who want an alternative to Spice and love Autumnal tones with a slightly antiqued edge. Vibrant Primary has it all, blues, pinks, organgey yellows - they are all fantastic, plus the fact that we are one of the cheapest suppliers in the country at the moment for ink pads - check us out.
The craziness goes on!! After a great show at Leigh at the week-end - thank you everyone who attended and welcome to lots of new customers - we love you all!! We are girding our loins for the 'big one', this week-end at Port Sunlight, HSNW - a veritable Stamp Fest. Followed the next day by Hinckley - not that breaking down one Show and setting up another on the same day isn't fun and games- Help!!!!
Heather is beavering away finding yet more fantabulous ways to show you how to use the Inkadinks on acetate. Unfortunately our suppliers can't get more supplies of her gorgeous Pansy stamp to us in time for the Show - they are due to arrive next week - not good enough but nothing we can do. It is ssooo frustrating when something is really successful and we can't get more supplies in quickly enough. But as ever, she has some other scorching ideas up her sleeve using Acetate, which we all love. However, we have got more Country Christmas roller, which you all loved so much - we sold out. Heather's, spritzing with the Inkadinks and bleaching technique is so easy and effective, you just have to come and see it! I must say it has been a bit touch and go over the past few weeks with both Harvey and Heather suffering from the dreaded lurgy but neither of them gave in they carried on going. So many people seem to be suffering - the cough has been horrendous! However, I am delighted to say that they are both on the mend just in time for the weekend.
JJ (our Jennifer), has excelled herself with this week's card. She has used one of the new Gillian Roberts stamps, (Mistletoe and Mice), that have nearly all gone - (already we have only had them a couple of weeks, again if you want one phone or email to check stock). She has used the Hearts and Flowers Roller in the background, inked up with Black Cherry Staz-On Ink. She has also applied the Black Cherry around the edges of the white heart and blended it with Cut n Dry Foam. She has stamped the mice with black staz-on ink, coloured them in and decoupaged them several times. She has finished the card by tying green sparkly thread through the buttons and sticking them onto the card. So, so, sweet and to ring the changes she has also used the same image and cut off the mistletoe and put a bunch of flowers there instead (how clever is that) and used the card for an Anniversary! I do love stamps that you can use for more than one occasions. This idea would also work with this stamp for birthdays and Valentines Day. Anyway, enough for one day. At long last time to blog! It has been incredibly hectic for the last month, shows, shows and more shows! Manchester, Harrogate, Sandown, Exeter, Ally Pally, Leigh coming up this week-end and then the Creme de la Creme of stamping shows, Happy Stampers North West - 6 hours of unbelievable stamping madness and extravaganza! I love it- this is a real stamping show unashamedly devoted to passionate rubber stampers. I think Liz and her team are amazing. They organise this festival twice a year and they do it purely for the love of stamping - not for profit but just as a festival of stamping. The organisation takes months and months of work and they do it all voluntarily so that both visitors and exhibitors alike can indulge in a veritable feast of stamping.
Another lady who receives this months award for incredible service, beyond the call of duty, is the lovely Heidi from Stampavie. Can you believe it, she came all the way to Ally Pally just to deliver stamps and hugs. She and Stuart her husband left home at 6am to fly to London to come to the Show and were kind enough to deliver our stamps to the show. How many suppliers would do this?

Don't you just love the two cards we have featured here. Again thanks to Heidi for supplying them and to the amazingly talented Claudia Rosa (http://www.rosawelt.blogspot.com/) for creating them. They are of course using the wonderful Sarah Kay stamps that we are now stocking and these cards illustrate beautifully the point I made earlier about fabulous creativity with rubber stamps. The lovely balance of colour, pattern, matting and layering alongside stitching detail and sublte colouring with copic marker pens has produced two sophisticated elegant cards which show the stamps to such advantage. Note the delicate herringbone stitch around the edge of 'Christmas Preparations', (shown below), such attention to detail. We are so lucky to have these works of art and we are really grateful to Rosa and Heidi for allowing us to feature them on the blog and also to display them at up and coming Shows in Port Sunlight, Glasgow and Birmingham. Come and see the cards in the flesh, at the Shows, they are even more beautiful close up.
We are really thrilled with the response to Heather's new demo featuring the Inkadinks and Magi Blend used on acetate - you all went completely crazy for it and who can blame you! Heather's new Pansy Border Stamp, stamped onto acetate and coloured with the Inkdadinks got you all very excited. If you haven't see the demo come and see it at the next few shows - you will be ssssoooooo impressed. Heather works really hard behind the scenes to give you something new and exciting and she has come up trumps this time.
We are going to be running Make and Take Workshops at the NEC this year and if you need a refresher course with the Rollagraph or you have been thinking about buying it but haven't quite made it come and have a go with Michelle. 45 Minutes - and it won't cost you a penny to do the Workshop - it could change your creativity for ever - at least we hope so!!
Finally a huge thankyou to Lesley for helping out at Exeter. She has bucket loads of enthusiasm and it makes such a difference when there is someone who has time to chat and explain things. Also she does a mean Cibatta! These things matter when you are too busy to eat during a show! and the Chocolate Truffle seashells were to die for!

What a fabulous start to our Winter Ollyfant Gallery on this Blog. We might not Blog often enough but when we do we do try and go for it! I just love this card! I love the layering using pale blue, cream and silver mirri. Jen Freeman our newest designer has a great sense of colour and she uses background papers so well and of course the Ollyfant stamps are fantastic, not just because the sets are so well put together and you get such lovely little accessory stamps that you could use with any stamps you already have, but they are so 'useable'. By this I mean you can make so many variations out of just one set and I truly believe they are the very best value for money around. I know I keep banging on about this but it is TRUE! They are all intermixable, so by buying a couple of well chosen sets you can have dozens and dozens of combinations. Have a look at some of the other samples, they are all so different and such fun, you really can't go wrong.

Gingham Girl for Autumn

This card uses the Autumn set of Ollyfants. Stamp the little girl out twice, once onto white card and once onto red gingham. To dress her cut out her clothes from the gingham card and once you have coloured her in stick her clothes onto her, as in the picture. For the background you could use spotty card or use a cuttle bug embossing Dots folder and highlight the dots with a red pen and then some glitter. Use one of the new Martha Stewart punches for the trim or nestabilities or a die cut frame shape. Don't make life difficult for yourself take the idea and adpat it with whatever you have to hand! This is a really lovely lively card for Autumn birthdays.

Fusible Fibres and Mica

Do you have problems thinking of what to do with fusible fibres, or angel hair. They don't show up well on the screen (so many things don't) but in reality this card shimmers and glows as the background uses fusible fibres behind the Snowman and mica powders dusted all over the background. We have got some lovely new colours of fusible fibre and all you do is make sure you work on a heat proof sheet. Place your heat proof sheet on your ironing board place the paper on top, place your shredded combined fusible fibres together onto the surface, place another piece of paper on top, iron over with a hot iron but please take care using the hot iron etc. The combinations are endless and can be really spectacular. The corners are decorated using the Snowflake rollagraph.

Red Hot Christmas

I love Jen's choice of paper on this card, and it gives you some great ideas for putting papers together on a card. You know when you are sitting there with a big pile of decorative papers in front of you and you think which ones really go together (hopefully before you cut them up!), and which ones will enhance the main image -well Jen is really good at that. She keeps to quite a restricted colour palette (red and green in this case), and by using the lovely new Woodware layering punches (the Scallops here), the matting and layering central effect gives the card its main focal point. You can't really see it on the screen but the darker red inner circle is punched out of red twill fabric card and gives lovely texture to the card

You all seem to love the Ollyant Stamps so just to feed your creativity a little more we are going to feature some more 'Cuties'. You will also be introduced to our newest designer Jen Freeman, who really knows how to put paper and stamps together.
The Winter Snowman set is just the best and you will be able to see just a few samples of how you can get so much out of just one set of stamps. Paper tearing is so in at the moment and Jennifer (our other Jennifer)has used it so effectively to layer up the snowdrifts on this card. Aren't the little reindeer cute, I love their snubby noses as they nestle in the trees. What I also really like about the Ollyfant sets, is that you can intermix all the sets together and at an even better price this month of £5.89 they are even better value than ever before-and they were great value even then!!

Near The Christmas Tree

We are always being asked for inspiration, so to do just that, Jennifer has used one set of stamps (for the amazing price of £6.50)! and we are showing you how to make 4 different cards and this is just a start!
It is so nice to have a set of stamps that has both a boy and a girl and lots of useful bits and pieces. If you look back on the blog you will see that Heather has used the little girl on a card to hold up a flower, she cut off the presents and put a flower in her hand instead - clever!! A great example of how to use your stamps in other ways. The little boy could be used for Birthdays, Good Luck and Congratulations - so even better value for money.

The backgrounds are created using the Standard Rollagraphs, Snowflakes and Toys, Glitz Roller, Stars, The Kars Border Stamp Holly, again another brilliant price of just £3.00, Kaleidocolor or Vivid Dye Ink Pads, Staz-On Ink Pads in Black, Olive Green, Cactus Green, Mica powders mixed with water to colour in, Gold and Detail White Embossing Powder and Cut n Dry Foam for sponging on ink onto backgrounds. All these products are available on the Web Site. This little square card is so sweet and pretty and to cut out the square apertures you could use a square punch, measure and cut out using a craft knife, use a die cut machine like Sissix or just buy some aperture cards, ready cut out for your use! To colour in use either the Mica Powders or the Mica Pearly Paint Palette. To mix up the mica powders, take a little from the pot onto a small dry paint brush, mix on a paint palette or onto an acrylic block or plate with a tiny amount of water, make sure it isn't lumpy and paint away.

This card uses the same set of stamps and the same little girl image. The Toys Standard Roller is inked up on a Black Staz-on Ink Pad, if you haven't got staz-on use any permanent black ink pad like Memories. The Stars are created using the little Roller Doodles Glitz Rollers which are really sweet, ink up on the Cactus Green Staz-On and roll out onto the card The background papers are from Basic Grey but you could use any backing paper you have in your stash. The little present images are also Stamps in the set and here you need to stamp twice onto 2 Post-It notes to create two masks. Cut really accurately around the images and make sure you have the sticky bit at the top of the images. Stamp one of the images on the white circle of card. Place your post-it mask over it and stamp another present image over it, stick the other mask over that and then stamp a third image. Colour them in using Mica Powders or water colour pencils. Play around with the stamps and masks first on a spare piece of paper, so that you are happy with the finished result. Masking is a brilliant technique that you can use in lots of different ways.

This card is a bit different and uses the Cut N Dry Foam to sponge the background colours onto the card. It would be a brilliant Christmas card for any male in your life as it is bright and cheeky. We use Dye based inks like Kaleidocolor or Vivid as they dry straight away. You could use pigment inks such as Brilliance but make sure you either leave them to dry or dry them off with a heat gun. As you are using White Embossing Powder to highlight the vertically stamped Kars Holly Border stamp the background inks must be completely dry or the embossing powder will stick to the background as well as the stamped image. This is why we use Dry based Inks for sponging. You also get intense colour from dye based inks, pigment inks tend to be softer. So, sponge on the colour first and then stamp and emboss over the top, doing it the other way around will cover up the stamped Holly images - obviously but try and lets face it we have all done that kind of thing when we aren't really concentrating!! Jennifer has used slots to thread the red ribbon through and coil up, so that the little boy is standing on it on the right. To achieve this either cut slots out with a ribbon punch, measure and cut with a craft knife or use a die cut machine like the Cricket and use the Slot Button. Thread the red ribbon down through one slot and back up the other. Roll each end to the centre and glue in place. This is a great technique to learn as it can be used to great effect on all sort of cards. I have seen it used really effectively on Wedding and Anniversary cards, using Organza and silk ribbon. It gives a card dimension and focal points. Obviously the little boy is stamped on separate white card, coloured in and cut out.

Here using the same image, the Standard Rollers Snowflakes and Toys and the same sponging background technique with the Cut n Dry Foam and Dye based inks but in a different colourway.

Have a closer look at the Ollyfant stamps as they are amazing value and as you can see even stamps that are themed, such as Christmas can be used for other occasions.

Has your weather brightened up yet? There is supposed to by a North - South divide in the weather but it is gloomy, damp and ever so dull in Dorset but it hasn't stopped the A303 being chocker block with cars, caravans and hundreds and hundreds of people heading for Devon and Cornwall for their 'Staycations' - does anyone know who invents these new words - this one (so I am told), is the new name for anyone who is staying at home (or in the UK) for a holiday.

We have decided that a bit of late summer planting is the order of the day and we have plummped for some gorgeous white hydrangers in pots for the outside of the Garden Studio. On Barney's evening walk we pass an amazing high tech eco-house and the garden is a picture. They have used a green and white theme and used huge white hydrangers everywhere, it is truly breathtaking, so as with most good ideas, we aren't being original but at least we can have our own bit of classic beauty.

Do some crafting to cheer up your gloomy day and enjoy what's left of a disappointing summer. This Ollyfant Snowman stamp set is so sweet and the little 'extras' make it versatile for other occasions as well. I love the Standard Snowflake Roller around the edge for the frame and this shows how easy it is to roll around corners and use the rollers in different ways. For the snow take a piece of vellum or parchment put it onto a mouse mat or if you have one use an embossing mat and with a smallish stylus (or a dead ball point pen), put dots of snow onto the vellum and then just turn it over so that it looks like snow falling - so easy!! Colour in with Inkadinks or Marvy Le Plumes or whatever you fancy! The card speaks for itself, easy, fun and really pretty, anyone would be delighted to receive this card -have a go.

I wanted to call this card 'Moonlight becomes You', as I think it is such a cute card - with a difference, which is what we all want sometimes!
Masking is a brilliant technique and can be used in so many different ways. Here, Jennifer has used the Ollyfant set called 'Playing with the Cat' and she has used the seat and the little girl and created a sweet little romantic card of a moonlight scene which is so different and unusual. To create the moonlight, she has punched out a 1" circle from a post-it note and stuck it onto the glossy card. She has then used a brayer and rolled it onto Kaleidocolor Dye Ink and rolled the ink onto the glossy card, over the post it moon, to create the background. She has stamped the bench and topiary tree from the set using black staz-on ink directly onto the background and the little girl is also stamped in black staz-on. Cut out the little girl and pop her on the bench with double sided sticky pads. Highlight the tree and bench with a white gel pen. The embellishments are stamped using White Staz-On onto black shrink plastic, the border is created using the standard roller, Designer 12 pattern and you could use any little leaf, branch or even Flutterby to stamp the pattern across the top of the card. A You could change the colours of this card to suit your own occasion but it is pretty straight forward and easy to achieve. You could make is the sun instead of the moon and do a daylight version. Jennifer can always be relied upon to come up with something a bit different and she hasn't disappointed here. Take the idea and fiddle with it to create your own little moonlight masterpiece. We will be showing you 8 or 9 other ideas with the Standard Rollers and the Ollyfant stamp sets over the next few days and don't forget the Stamp sets are such fantastic value and you get 5 or 6 in the set and this particular set has the Bench which is so useful and can be used with so many of your other stamps. We will also be showing you how to frame your projects with some of the standard christmas rollers, so keep watching for more fun tomorrow!

At last a new post from a very wet and windy Dorset - what happened to all that sunshine? Well - the new garden Studio is up and running and very smart, so at last we will be able to run courses and workshops - for all of you who have been asking. We have just finished filming the new DVD, what an exhausting experience! Heather has worked so hard producing lots of step by step and finished samples and after days of filming we are now busy editing, splicing and cutting - we know how Richard Attenborough feels now! Of course, we got the giggles - big time, you just can't help it seeing yourself on camera is not an easy experience, the bags under the eyes from too much laughing the night before, any crooked teeth, very traumatic - believe me! So, now even more hard work begins to try and get the DVD ready for the Autumn. There are some great projects and it really does answer all the questions everyone always ask us about the Rollagraph. Lots of teachers out there have already pre-ordered a copy, so we know we're doing it right!

Heather has also been really creative and using the new Ollyfant stamps from our Web Site. These cuties have to represent the best value for money around! JUST £5.99 a SET, it really is an unbelievable price. On this set - Autumn Day 2 you get 6 clear stamps. They are fantastic, do take a look. Heather has created this card using the Hearts and Flowers Rollagraph on the background papers, the Flower Patch roller behind the little girl and everything is coloured in using the Inkadinks! - How easy is that! So there is alot going on behind the scenes at Imagination at the moment, we are working on new techniques and we will keep you posted about new masterclass videos on You Tube, so that you can get the most out of your Inkadinks and your rollers. Michelle is busy working on our new Logo, when she isn't Camping (in this weather - crazy girl!!). Jennifer is working really hard on producing new samples, we have a new designer joining our design team, Karen, more about her later. Heather is really busy on just about everything!! We hope to have some incredible new rubber stamp releases in August from both Michelle and Heather and Harvey is hoping to sccop a BAFTA award for Production!! Sue is busy teaching and spreading the word about our amazing Mica powders, all her students are using them now and loving them - so never a dull moment - keep watching!

Again Jennifer has used the Standard Rollagraph with the Dragonflies as a border, it almost looks stencilled and it gives a really pretty effect. I love this roller and it goes well with any butterfly stamp or as a background to a single flower stamp. Butterflies and Dragonflies are always popular and if you are stuck for an idea for a Birthday card, you can't go far wrong with either of them. We are always asked about the word stamp and this is an old Whispers word stamp but we have seen it in other makes. If you don't have it, print the words off the computer and go over them with a Gold Leaf or other permanent colour pen. The lovely straw detail in the wheelbarrow is done by shredding up a tiny piece of rough canvas fabric, you could cut up cork to look like logs, or colour bubble wrap to look like stones. Staz-on adds colour to bubble wrap.

Isn't she lovely! Again Jennifer has used the Ollyfant girl in conjunction with the Standard Country Border Roller, to make a card that would fit lots of occasions. Get Well Soon, Happy Birthday, Thinking of You to name but a few. She has used the Stazon Cactus Green pad inkpad to ink up the roller, it is a really nice shade of green and to create the sky background she has used Cut 'n' Dry Foam to take the blue colour off an ink pad and sponge onto the the white 'cloud' background behind the girl. The bench stamp in this set is particularly useful, as you can use Post-it notes and the masking technique. I love accessory stamps, like benches, walls, chairs etc they can be used in so many different ways and with lots of different stamps. The Ollyfant are particularly good for accessories as you get Trees for backgrounds, the Bench, an Umbrella and all the little Creatures, so you can combine them with your other stamps.

We thought the wait was worth it and it is, Jennifer has come up with some gorgeous samples of the Ollyfant stamps used in conjunction with the Standard Rollers and Inkadinks to colour in the images. Be inspired - we are!!

Here she has used the Zephyr roller and run it around the outside of the circle aperture, that's the beauty of the rollers you can use them straight, curved, create zig zags and borders of your choice. It is so nice to see them used in a different way. Keep going because there are lots more examples coming up!!

She's done it again - angeljakki - using our Inkadinks to colour a sweet little Sugar Nellie image Spring Lamb. If you haven't already visited angeljakki.blogspot.com, go and have a look now! If you feel lacking in inspiration or you want some ideas for using the Rollagraph and the Inkadinks there are some beautiful cards on this blogspot that will make you feel you want to rush to your craft table and create! Inkadinks are so easy to use, straight from the bottle with a waterbrush or water them down for a soft watercolour effect. Mixed with mica and water and shaken (not stirred), Inkadinks, will give you beautiful soft shimmering colour that glides onto the paper. They deliver that professional finish that we are all seeking to achieve in our colouring.

Happy days are here again...the sun is shining and the daisies are scattered in the meadows. As you can see we are feeling rather poetic here in Dorset, where the sun is hot and the urge to plant up those tubs with geraniums and clouds of michelmas daises is quite overwhelming. We think we might change Barney's name to Buttercup as he is springing through the fields gathering yellow blossoms in his fur as he bounces along and he looks so sweet with his curly spaniel ears dotted with tiny yellow flowers - quite flower power! So, with that in mind we thought we should try and inspire some summer cards using Michelle's lovely Daisy Chain stamp. We have inked up the stamp with black memories ink onto pink gingham paper and cut round it, we have used silver and pink brilliance to stamp out a few other daisies. We stamped with the pink brilliance onto a piece of black shrink plastic to heat shrink down the design, we decorated the edge of the card with little stamped flowers, added a pink gingham bow and assembled a quick simple pretty card fit for any summer birthdays.
We all had a day out at the seaside yesterday and went down to Swanage. It was fantastic, the sea was a sparkling azure blue and we sat in a cafe on the quay side and ate seafood in a white wine cream sauce with so much garlic we were transported on the fast ferry (which we saw leaving Poole harbour!) to the cafes in St Tropez! - who says you have to go abroad for sun, sea and sangria - we can recommend Swanage. After lunch we walked along the South West Coastal Path, sat on a sun drenched cliff and lay in the grass watching sky larks and listening to the crickets chirruping in the grass on a hot afternoon - bliss!! We also stopped off in Corfe by the Castle and had the biggest and best cream tea you have ever tasted - it was superb, the fluffiest home baked warm scones, home made wild strawberry jam and clotted cream - Oh! Oh! Oh! So we are now definitely on a diet today and its cottage cheese for lunch (low fat of course - yuk!! it is truly vile), crackers and a stick of celery - yum yum!!

What a week-end it has been, we were officially hot for the first time this year! Poor Barney did alot of sighing and flopping about on the tiled floor trying to find a cool spot as wearing a very thick fur coat in 23 degrees is hard work!! So its Perfect Paws for him next week, he went 4 weeks ago but poor lad needs another trip for a new make-over. He did enjoy his trip to the Sherborne Castle Country Fair at the week-end where he managed to secure an Ostrich Burger from a Great Dane who had been momentairly distracted by a very flighty Yorkshire Terrier!
We have been really busy over the last few weeks as you all loved the offer on the Standard Rollers. Don't forget it ends soon at the end of the month, so don't miss out. The Standard Roller pattern dragonflies are lovely and you can achieve a lovely flying stream of dragonflies across the paper by inking up the roller and when you roll it out over the paper make the pattern fly up and down, (just push the roller up hill and down dale, it is really easy), it looks fab - try it and see you'll be thrilled with this new way to use your roller. We will be featuring a card using this technique in the next few weeks.
We decided that as the sun is now officially shinning and everyones' garden is coming into bloom it is time to use some of our beautiful range of botanical stamps in conjunction with the jumbo roller. We know how much you love the Ornate Border roller so we decided to combine it with the Shadow Rose Stamp, for a really rich card that would be perfect for lots of occasions. The card is so easy to do, the secret is to roll the Ornate border design across the card from left to right, rather than up and down and always check you are starting to roll from the same place on the roller. Often, using the join line is a great starting point. This one has been heat embossed with our own new Magi-Boss Ultra Fine Gorgeous Gold embossing powder. These are a new range of powders that we are trialling at the moment and we will be going live with them any day now! We have been perfecting the range and we are thrilled with the beautiful smooth glowing effects that can be achieved with these powders. We inked up the Imagination Shadow Rose stamp using Versamark and embossed this using the Gorgeous Gold Magi-Boss and by matting and layering the image onto cream gold pearlescent card and bordering with gold mirri card the composition of the card is really complimentary. Don't forget to put the piece of gold organza ribbon onto the card before you stick the Rose image down on top of it.

At last we have slowed down a bit so there is now time to be creative! After the overwhelming enthusiasm at the Happy Stampers show (what an amazing turn out) and at Leigh we can concentrate on summertime cards and some of the new Rollers. I think you'll agree that this card shows just what you can do with the Rollagraph. Most people think you can only use them for backgrounds but with a bit of lateral thinking when you are choosing a pattern you can use them for the whole card. We know lots of you want more inspiration so we will be concentrating on showing you lots of different ways of using the rollers in the next few weeks. This card uses the Flower Patch and Four Flowers Jumbo rollers. Part of the fun of the Rollagraph is that you can use it on a curve, start on one side and as you push along gently curve the roller up and down as if you are pushing the roller up and down hill! You can use any of the lovely bright coloured cartridges to load into the handle and then trace over some of the flowers with a gel pen to make them 'pop', out of the card. Roll two designs so that you can cut one up, to add extra little flower heads on the card for emphasis. Matting and layer with a darker complimentary colour always makes the design stand out more. Heat emboss the Four Flowers roller with our very own Bronze detail embossing powder, its so smooth and shiny. Cut them up and use a few paper flowers in a contrasting colour, stick on a few tiny tiny gems and layer up as we have done here. If you want a relaxing afternoon in the sunshine, have a go at the card above, it is perfect for a summer birthday or anniversary, or even a really special Get Well Soon card.
We are so excited here in sunny Dorset because Heather and Michelle are hard at work producing some more fabulous rubber stamp designs for us. Heather has excelled herself with some new roller designs, they are beautiful and we can't wait to launch them at the Autumn Shows. Heather is also preparing herself for her filming debut for the DVD which will be filmed in July ready for the Autumn. This is in response to all those of you who keep saying to Heather "I wish I could take you home with me so that I won't forget what you have shown me", well your chance is coming up!! She could be in your house in time for Christmas (as they say)!
Michelle has excelled herself this time with her stamp designs they are absolutely gorgeous and you will see her demonstrating them at the Christmas Show at the NEC, her Snow Tree will be the most useful stamp you buy this year!! There are so many ways to use it and we can't wait!
We have got some amazing new products on the web site and judging by your response at the last few Shows you couldn't get enough of them! NEW!! THEY'VE ARRIVED!!

After months of waiting, wanting, hoping, dreaming, THEY ARE HERE!! The new Standard Rollers we have been promising you - Yes! they did exist, we weren't just tormenting you, they are really in our possession! How exciting is that! And.........................they are truly GORGEOUS!! And the price is INCREDIBLE - if you are watching those pennies, this is classy, crafting on a shoe string - believe me!! Even Barney has had his nose in the box and chosen the ones he likes.......admittedly they have sweet little Cats, Rabbits and Toys on them but he has been trying them out, by rolling them around the garden and down the path and he reports that they roll really well, so that's good to know isn't it!! So now his are buried - somewhere - in a Dorset garden just in case some one else fancies them and makes off with them, which, of course is exactly what will happen!! Lesley, who is new to our design team, saw them for the first time yesterday and we couldn't get her out of the box either! Seriously they are truly just beautiful, we have 45 new designs in stock and there is just a teeny taster sample below.

Firstly a few facts, so that you know what you are playing with. The price, -unbelievably, they are JUST £3.75 each - yep it's true JUST £3.75 per roller. The handle is JUST £3.00 and of course you only need one of those and off you go!! What other crafting tool costs so little these days. These little beauties have to be up for the most cost effecting, creative craft tool of the century! The fact that you can use them with card, paper, vellum, stamps, ink pads, die cuts etc that you already have in your stash makes them such a good economical buy! They are just an inch wide, 25mm in modern money and they work just like the Jumbo Rollers and can be used in conjunction with the Jumbos or as a stand alone roller. Techniques for Tuesday on a Wednesday

I mentioned yesterday that we would show you 2 cards using the same Rollagraph pattern but using two different techniques - we ran out of time hence Techniques for Tuesday on a Wednesday! Before we begin one of our Blog followers, wanted to know which embossing powder we use

at our Demos to get such a glossy finish, well as they say, it is all in the Detail. It sure is, to get the best finish ever when you are embossing always, always, use fine detail embossing powder. We have it on the site and we always use it. Again apologies for the photos of the products, they don't come out well, but the product is superb. Used with a clear Versamark pad (always use Versamark, cheaper ones just don't cut it), and detail powder, you will never get a better finish. Detail powders are much finer than normal embossing powders and literally they show up the 'detail', of an image. The Black is particularly good, as black powders are notoriously difficult to use and if you are using a word stamp, for example the lovely background 'Words Words', roller you need the fine powder to ensure that all the fine detail is readable. Also, fine powders have a lower melt point and they meld together for a beautiful almost foiled finish - we love them! Also they don't cost much either, which is always a bonus!

So, back to our technique. On the card above, again featuring the lovely Lola with a Bird, Sugar Nellie stamp, the background Mixed Dots roller is used on heat embossable acetate. Ink up the roller with Saddle Brown Staz-On Ink and roll onto the acetate. Leave to dry for a moment. Clean the roller, drag an antistat pad over the acetate, ink up the Mixed Dots with with Versamark, this time, roll over the Staz-On inked dots and heat emboss with clear detail powder. Ink up a piece of background card using the Mixed Dots roller again using the Staz-On Saddle Brown, cut both the background card and the acetate into a circle and layer up with the acetate circle on top of the background circle, separate the two with foam backed sticky pads. Glue the decorative paper circle over the top, stamp Lola using an Artprint Brown Memories Ink Pad, colour her in with the Inkadinks using a small paintbrush. The effect is of being drawn into the card and the Mixed dots and the layering technique using acetate is perfect for this effect. The mixed dots roller lends itself to being rolled over and over again, building up the layered look. Some of the dots are solids and some are open so you can see through to the other layers.

We are very, very, excited today as the much awaited Standard Rollers have arrived! Boxes and boxes of them, all brand new designs, we can't wait to get them out and roll em! They will be a bit cheaper than the Jumbos and they will be great for doing 'wiggly' curved lines and borders and already we are planning some really exciting 'fun' backgrounds using them. Watch this space for more news and hopefully they will be on the web site in the next week or so!

Hi Everyone,

Sunshine and showers in Somerset! The week-end was a huge success and we met so many interesting people. In response to all your enquiries and questions we thought we would start the week with some inspiration for your Spring card making but before we do just a quick round up of general news. Heather is back from Russia, thank goodness, we miss her so much when she isn't within easy reach as she has all the answers to all those difficult technique questions!! She caught a horrible cold from a Babushka on the plane but she is now on the mend and is getting herself all psyced up for Happy Stampers North West. We can't wait for the Show and we will have extra help on the Stand this year as it was just unbelievably busy last year and we couldn't get to everyone in double quick time and give everyone the time they needed to answer all those technique questions! Heather will be doing a really inspiring demo this year using the Inkadinks and some new Rollers. So all you roller addicts, can get your rolling 'fix'. Barney loves going to the Wirral because he can run on the beach and chase seagulls, the only problems is that the Wirral estuary does a special line in the stickiest gloopiest mud known to man and Barney just loves it. We have had him clipped for the Summer but his fur seems to retain Wirral mud like super-glue and the showers on the camp site don't quite get to the root of the problem.

Anyway on to the cards featured on the Blog this week.

What we wanted to do was to inspire you and show you how you can use just one or two rollers and get really different effects. The design team have been hard at work as you can see and we have Jennifer and Heather to thank for this week's contributions. We have featured the Mixed Dots roller in these two cards (above and below) and on the Rope Swing image we have just used it to frame the central image in the circle and simply heat embossed the dots with detail silver embossing powder. Really easy and quick to do. Stamp the little girl on the swing 4 or 5 times, using a Black Memories ink pad, (Memories is a permanent, waterbased ink pad which is fantastic as a base before colouring ink - it won't run like Staz-On). Colour her in using a damp paintbrush and Inkadinks. Layer up and mount inside a circle. You could use any colour combination, we have used pink and silver here. Ink up the Roller with Versamark, roll either side of the image, shake on the detail powder, heat emboss, trim, mat and layer. Punch out a few pink flowers and your done!

Magi-Boss Chunky Mother of Pearl

Hi Everyone

We're back from warm sunny London and Ally Pally to get ready for Shepton Mallet and slow dreamy Somerset - what a contrast that will be. I do love the 'buzz', of London but the driving this time was completely crazy! People driving up the wrong side of the street and on the pavement - mad, bad and not nice to know!! But the view from Ally Pally on the top of hill right out over the park with London set out in front is quite a vista and it never fails to thrill. Phew! we were sssoooo busy and sssoooo hot but we upset our favourite security guard Baz because we left Barney at home. He brought his (Baz's and Barney's that is) favourite Garlic sausage so he could feed him, so we were not popular and to get his own back he dumped the Garlic Sausage on the Stand and what with the heat and all, we smelt a bit 'allo allo' and I am surpised we weren't wearing berets and smoking Gauloise by the end of the day!! So I apologise for the not so delicate French aroma of our Stand on Saturday but Baz's garlic sausage got a bit overheated! We did contemplate buying a baguette and offering it round but we weren't sure how many birthdays it had had!! Anyway the thought was there and that's all that counts - thanks Baz and just for the record Barney's paw is better now and the lampshade has come off - thank goodness! However Barney's penchant for Poodles hasn't diminished as evidently he 'met' one at the week-end so I think the French influence stretched back down to Dorset and there was a bit of 'entente cordiale', going on back at La Maison Imagination!

We do hope you like this week's card. We thought we would feature something cool, calm and contemporary and as 'lurve', seemed to be in the air (rather than garlic sausage), the lovely Simon and Lola from Sugar Nellie seemed very appropriate. We will be featuring lots of cards from one of our most talented card designers Jennifer Johnston, on the blog. She has been on our design team for some years now and she has some brilliant creative ideas as you will see in the coming weeks. Here she has used our fabulous new Chunky Boss, thick embossing powder. As you can see it is so smooth and flexible and even though it can be used in the same ways as UTTE, it can be used in a single layer as well as being layered up. The beauty of the Magi-Boss Chunky is that it is flexible, so it can be used for really fine work. Jennifer has used a Die-Cut shape, inked it up with versamark and heat embossed with 2 layers of Mother of Pearl Magi-Boss Chunky. Even on the photograph you can get some idea of the incredible smoothness, shimmer and shine that you can achieve with the Magi-Boss. The photos of the powders on the web don't do them justice, they are a really good price and used with punched out shapes and blended together, particularly using the Diamond Black Knight as a base they are a stunning addition to your stash. Use them in your Melt Pot as well as on cardstock. Enjoy the sunshine, we are hoping to have a lawn this year, and Harvey has put up one of those little garden tent gazebos, so I can craft outside in the sunshine, so on the folding table from Argos with Barney stretched out working on his tan, dreaming of a follow up meeting with La Belle Fifi, I shall enjoy working on our exciting new designs ready for the Autumn.

Hi Everyone
Just a quickie Blog as we are off to Ally Pally for the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show this week-end. The weather is usually really sunny and hot, we will see if this year is any different! Barney isn't coming with us this year as he has cut his paw and is now wearing a lampshade (Buster Collar) and looking very sorry for himself. So he is staying with friends who will feed him Bonios and feel sorry for him!
Isn't the piccy above gorgeous! We just wanted to show you what is possible using the Inkadinks and the jumbo rollers! Don't be nervous about using the Inkadinks because we send you our famous Step by Step instruction sheet, so you aren't out on your own with them. Lots of hints and tips enclosed.
This beautiful sample was produced by inking up the Dogwoods roller with versamark, onto Pearlescent card, heat embossing with Detail White Embossing Powder and then sponging the Cranberry Sorbet ink over the top using Cut 'N' Dry Foam which is now BACK IN STOCK!! The embossed image acts as a 'Resist' against the ink. It is that easy - just mat and layer!! Lovely for an Anniversary, Wedding or Spring Birthday card. Don't you love it when something is so simple and beautiful. Of course, we have our Heather to thank for this lovely sample and of course it is just one of many. Thank you for your lovely comments about our Demos at the Show, we know how much you enjoy Heather's creativity and it is so nice to hear that you do.

Magi-Boss Chunky with Doodles!

Hi Everyone
Well back from North Yorkshire and one of our favorite haunts, Harrogate. We are all at least 1/2 stone heavier as the food in the Hotel, out in the countryside was superb! Even Barney has put on weight! Don't you just love this week's card featuring our new incredible, amazing Magi-Boss Chunky embossing powder, we have used a mixture of the Copper and Gold on this one. Jennifer, one of our really talented designers made this one using the Doodles Rollagraph. She used the Chocolate Cartridge for the colour on the background and the amazing Versamark Cartridge for the foreground embossed doodles on the mid brown cardstock. She used Versamark to ink up the diamond shape and then a mixture of Gold and Copper Magi-Boss Chunky Powder heat embossed, to a smooth melted layer before pushing in the rubber stamp inked up with Black Memories into the Chunky Powder. She left it to cool for a few seconds and the released the stamp. Magi-Boss Chunky has a different consistency to other UTEE powders in that it remains flexible after heating. Other powders can crack and split off the card after they are layered up and cool. Magi-Boss is flexible and therefore incredibly smooth when it is cool, as you can see from the photo, the reflective qualities of the powder are beautiful and because it has been designed to be used either alone or mixed together, using the shimmering colours together, Shimmering Green Grass, Shimmering Blue Mountain and Shimmering Deep Purple will give you incredibly beautiful reflective backgrounds. We have also produced a Mother of Pearl Chunky Boss and you can see the soft smooth pearly effect on the next card. These powders will transform your crafting so do give them a go. It is difficult to get decent photos of them for the Web Site as you can't get the reflected qualities in a photo or scan but you can see the results for yourself on these samples.

How about a change from rollagraph - I know we are obssessed by the wonder roller here at Imagination but we also have a fabulous range of rubber stamps. As you know we pride ourselves on working with some really talented UK artists who provide us with original artwork for our stamps. Michelle Johnson is one of our artists and she also works as a creative designer for Making Cards Magazine. This month in Making Cards Magazine she is featured in the On-line Gallery using one of her stamps that she has designed for us called 'Flutterby'. It is one of our most popular stamps and Michelle has designed two lovely fresh pastel cards using chalks. They are quick and easy to do and their classic design would be suitable for Spring birthdays, anniversaries and congratulations. Also featured on the Making Cards site is one of the Sugar Nellie range of rubber stamps and as many of you know we are the only Craft Company with a special licence to sell Sugar Nellie at the Shows up and down the country. We are in Harrogate this week-end and we will have a new delivery of Sugar with some stunning samples on the display boards on the Stand.

Inkadinks

This is the first of our featured blog spot cards by other artists. angeljakki.blogspot.com. Jakki is a prolific artist and creates beautiful cards and we will be featuring her artwork from time to time. She has used the brand new and exclusive to ImaginationCrafts 'Inkadinks', which will be on the Web Site later in the week. The inks are available in 3 sets, 4 inks in each set, and the colours are Brights, Lights and Sunset. As alot of you know we sold out of them in Birmingham and they will be back in stock in a few days time. Jakki has coloured in the Sugar Nellie stamp with the inks (so much easier to use then felt tips and other colouring mediums as the colours flow together beautifully), and featured the Hearts and Flowers Roller on the righthand background. I love her use of tone on tone colour and you can see more of her artwork on her blogspot at http://angeljakki.blogspot.com. She will be doing alot more cards featuring the rollers in the next few weeks so look out for some stunning examples coming soon. As those of you who saw our Heather demonstrating the Inks at the Shows, they are incredibly versatile, mixed with our Magi Shimmer Powders, layered with our brand new Magi Chunky Boss embossing powders and already we are bringing out a Metallic Set and a Vintage Set. Hi Everyone
We're back! Glasgow was cold and snowy, Birmingham was hot and sunny - the british weather hey! However, the welcome was equally warm in both cities. We met some incredibly talented people who have said we can feature their cards on our blog, which is so exciting - but more of them and their stunning art work later.
Our beautiful dog (below), Barney, is still not speaking to us because we left him behind! Normally he comes with us to Shows and spends most of the time reclining on his specially made bunk in the back of the van - complete with bed, pillow and paws softy blanket that Sue bought for him - not that he is in the least bit spoilt you understand. Instead he went to stay at 'Animals at Home', with Mike. A wonderful place where a max of 5 dogs stay as the family in the house. He has 3 walks a day and plays in the paddock with the other dogs - so it really is a 'dogs life'! Hope you like his 'Because I'm worth it photo'.

We are really excited because at long last the Rollagraph Clear Stamping Guide has arrived, we have waited so long and everyone here has grabbed one to see if it really works - and Yes! it does! As well as giving you the perfect guide for borders, squares and rectangles if you want to do really long runs of the roller, for wrapping paper or you want to create your own background papers in double quick time this is the tool to help you. The best thing ever, though is that the quide can be used for other things - so even better value for money. You know how we are always going on about getting value for money. It is so easy to use, our 4 year old neice used it straight away! It can be used in exactly the same way as a stamp positioner so that you can use it with your rubber stamps. As well as using it for straight lines one piece clicks into the other - very obviously - and it creates perfect right angles. It is clear so you can see what you have rolled or stamped underneath and it has non-slip little rubber feet so it isn't sliding away from you when you use it. If you are making cards, invitations, wrapping paper etc in batches, it speeds things up no end. We have limited numbers at the moment and we only received them yesterday and we have already sent out quite a few today to Rollagraph Addicts who saw them on the Web Site earlier today. We aren't sure when we will be able to get hold of some more so if you want one order straight away. We are also really pleased because we expected them to cost around £12.99 but we have managed to get the price down to £9.50!! which is such a good price for a tool that will really transform the way you stamp and roller. It comes with brilliant instructions and a great diagram and if you have already made your investment in the Rollagraph you can't be without one or if you have problems positioning rubber stamps where you want them and getting them straight, this is also the tool for you. We will be launching them at the SECC next week and due to very limited quantities we won't have any for the NEC for the following week, so either order them now, on-line, phone up and order one or come and see us in Glasgow. We will certainly let everyone know when we have more coming in, which hopefully will be in less time that it took last time - a year, how crazy is that?

Just to let you all know, Susan Amour will be blogging for us on a regular basis and keeping you updated on Imagination Happenings around the country. Lots of you know her and love her creative, arty style but lately she has worked her magic on some new Pyramage designs and it just shows that she can turn her hand to most things. She has introduced us to a brilliant new card designer and we will be featuring her cards in the future on the blog. It is always exciting to see what you do with the Rollagraph and our featured rubber stamps and we are constantly inspired and in awe of your creativity and work. We want to thank all you lovely ladies who discovered our Slide Mailers and spread the word - we can't wait to see the results.

A quick word about our Sugar Nellie rubber stamps. As you know we sell them exclusively at Shows around the country and we have just taken a huge delivery of lots and lots of 'cuties' for our next two shows in Glasgow and Birmingham, NEC. Our designers have been working really really hard to produce some truly inspiring samples - we know how much you love our sample boards - and Heather will be showing you how to use the new Inkadinks and Micas to produce the perfect skin tone colour which is so difficult to achieve with normal felt tips and other colouring mediums. So come and see us next week and cheer us on - we love meeting you and putting names to faces.

Hi Everyone, at long last, after numerous requests, here it is, The Imagination Crafts Blog Site. I think firstly I should bring this year up to date. It was really great to meet everyone at our first Show of the year in Exeter and make new friends, meet old friends and hear about your craft groups and see some of your projects. What a talented lot you are, the cards using our 4 Poppy Stamp were inspired. Our trip to Manchester, through all the snow and ice was a delight! All that gritty Northern humour, we love it! Obviously to see old friends from Newcastle was really wonderful and to know that you haven't forgotten us was so nice. Please come and talk to us at Harrogate and tell us all your family news, so we can keep up with everyone. At least the weather was kind at Farnborough this year and you seemed to like the new roller patterns. Dogwoods seemed to be everyones favourite. We must also thank everyone who made Hinckley such a success and to everyone who was supportive and encouraging at my Demo all I can say is, Thank you Girls!

As you know, I love the Rollagraph and those of you who have become converts to the stamping roller love it as much as I do especially one of my special customers who bought 15 rollers last week!! We hope to tell you lots of Rollagraph news on the Blog and to let you know when we have some new patterns and at long last we will be taking delivery of the much requested clear ruler, so that you can make up your background papers as well as borders and toppers. We have some wonderful new products coming out just in time for Glasgow, so come and see Heather doing some beautiful techniques with our new range of Inkadinks and Mica Alchemy! You can also see how to make your own Mica Twinklers (how much money is that going to save you!) and our new range of Chunky Boss, a UTEE that really is the next generation of Ultra Thick Embossing Powders, including a Black that is just incredible, will be available to you! We intend to bring out more new products throughout the year and we are working really hard on new and exciting techniques to inspire you in your papercrafting. We will have new people joining our team later in the year and our talented design team are working on new stamp designs as we speak. There is so much to look forward to the coming months and the Bargain Basement will continue to go from strength to strength, giving you incredible prices and the Best Bargains on the Web!
